This classroom action research aimed to improve the analytical skills of fifth-grade students in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. Current IPAS learning is oriented toward applicable problem-solving approaches. The low analytical skills at SDN Bangetayu Kulon were reflected in the pre-cycle classical completeness of only 28.57%, with a mean score of 64.29. The study employed the Kemmis and McTaggart spiral design across two cycles consisting of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting, involving 28 students, including 14 male and 14 female students. The instruments consisted of a Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) written test at the C4 analytical level, teacher and student activity observation sheets, and documentation. The findings indicated a gradual improvement: the class mean score increased from 64.29 in the pre-cycle to 74.64 in Cycle I and 90.36 in Cycle II. Classical completeness increased from 28.57% to 60.71% and 89.28%, exceeding the 85% success indicator. Student activity also increased from 53.21% in Cycle I to 91.79% in Cycle II. The implementation of PBL supported by contextual problems, scaffolding, guiding questions, and structured group roles effectively improved student engagement and analytical skills.
